The South Australian 17U team has proven triumphant over Victoria, taking out the national title today with a final score of 23 - 21.

The South Aussie team led at each quarter with a thrilling display of defensive action upsetting the Victorians.

Spectators were on the edge of their seats throughout the entire match, as scores were kept close at each turn. But it was certainly the South Australian’s that were the stronger side on the day.

Netball SA CEO is ecstatic with the presence and professionalism of the South Australian squads at all levels and South Australian attending umpires. SA local Alyce Robertson was one of today’s officiating umpires.

This is the first time in over a decade that the SA 17U team have won a national title.

Coach Judy Greenwood is delighted with the win.

Six of the South Australian team were named by the Australian Talent Identification Squad:

Kate Shimmin (Also honoured with Most Valuable Player within 17U Carnival.)
Madeline Proud
